Biography

David B. Dunn
Ambassador to Republic of Zambia

David B. Dunn of Santa Cruz, California, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, is the new U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Zambia.

Ambassador Dunn entered the Foreign Service in 1979, and has served overseas in Jamaica, Tunisia, France, Burundi, Mauritius, and Tanzania. In the latter three postings he served as Deputy Chief of Mission. Most recently, he was Director for East African Affairs in the Bureau of African Affairs. In that capacity, he was involved extensively in the United States' efforts to broker a resolution of the conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Ambassador Dunn is a graduate of Occidental College and holds masters degrees from American University and the National War College.
