Michael D. Metelits
Ambassador to Republic of Cape Verde

Michael D. Metelits, has been appointed the new U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Cape Verde.

Ambassador Metelits joined the Foreign Service in 1973. He has served as Director of the Office of Environmental Policy in the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental Scientific Affairs.

Ambassador Metelits attended the National War College, and has served in Angola, Brazil, Mozambique, Washington, DC, and at the U.S. Mission to the UN Food Agencies in Rome, and the U.S. Mission to the UN in New York.
