Bismarck Myrick, a minister-counselor in the Senior Foreign Service, is the new U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Liberia.
Before Ambassador Myrick's most recent assignment as Diplomat-in-Residence at Spelman College, he served as U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Lesotho. Since joining the Foreign Service in 1980, he has served in Washington, DC and Monrovia, and as principal officer in Cape Town and Durban. He chaired the Interagency Nuclear Testing Arms Control Working Group, and served on the U.S. delegation to the Geneva Nuclear Testing Talks.
