At present there are no Industry Sector Analysis reports (ISAs) available in Cyprus.

List of USDA/FAS/Commodity Reports and Market Briefs

There is no Agricultural Officer assigned to cover Cyprus in the region. Agricultural problems from Cyprus are referred to Washington. Requests for Commodity Reports and Market Briefs should be referred to USDA Washington at the following address:

G. Trade Event Schedule

The major trade event in Cyprus scheduled on a yearly basis is the Cyprus International Fair, which is an exhibitor-financed event. Next year's Fair, the 25th Cyprus International Fair, is scheduled for May 26-June 6, 2000. In recent years, the U.S. pavilion has been the largest single-country pavilion at the fair. Additionally, the State Fairs Authority organizes specialized exhibitions such as:

-- Agrifair (agricultural machinery, products and tools and foodstuffs), October 13-17, 1999;

-- Watertech (water treatment machinery), October 13-17, 1999;

-- Ideal Home Exhibition, October 30-November 7, 1999;

-- Home Equipment, October 30-November 7, 1999;

-- International Education Fair, February 24-27, 2000;

-- Sports and Leisure, Boat Show, and 4X4 Motor Cars, March 15-19, 2000;

-- Offitec (office equipment), October 18-22, 2000; and

-- Motorshow, November 8-12, 2000.

Some U.S. companies participate at these specialized exhibitions. Updated listings of these fairs are sent to the Department of Commerce and are available from the Desk Officer (tel. 202-482-2177).
