Ethiopia--Professor Asrat Woldeyes The Ethiopian Government has announced that Professor Asrat Woldeyes, who is currently undergoing legal proceedings on treason charges, is being permitted to leave Ethiopia for medical treatment overseas. His health condition had deteriorated, making him unable to stand trial. Initial medical exams are taking place in London. He has a visa to travel to the United States for further medical treatment. The United States Government welcomes this humanitarian gesture on the part of the Ethiopian authorities.
