January 5, 1998

Secretary Albright's Special Briefing on Cuba

On Tuesday, January 5, Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright will read a statement on Cuba at 12:30 p.m. in the Department of State press briefing room (rm. 2118). Following her remarks, Ambassador James Dobbins, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Inter-American Affairs at the National Security Council; Ambassador Peter Romero, Acting Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs; and Michael Ranneberger, Director for Cuban Affairs, will respond ON THE RECORD to questions from the press.

There will be a 15-minute break following the special briefing, after which Department of State Spokesman James P. Rubin will conduct the regular daily press briefing.
