Next Round of U.S.-D.P.R.K. Bilateral Talks
On Suspect Underground Construction

Consultations on arrangements for the next round of U.S.-D.P.R.K. discussions on the Kumchangni underground construction were completed on January 5 in the New York channel. These discussions will resume in Geneva, January 16-17. The U.S. is seeking steps by the DPRK to satisfy fully our concerns about the site, including providing access to it. Ambassador Charles Kartman, U.S. Special Envoy for the Korean Peace Talks, will lead the U.S. delegation.
