Senior Officials Brief on
Emergency Relief and Reconstruction in Central America

On Thursday, January 28 at 2:00 pm in the State Department Briefing Room Ambassador Wendy Sherman, Counselor of the U.S. Department of State, and Mark L. Schneider, Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean for the U.S. Agency for International Development, will brief reporters on-the-record about the disaster relief and reconstruction efforts ongoing in Central America following Hurricane Mitch. Ambassador Sherman and Mr. Schneider have just returned from a first-hand look at the situation on the ground in Honduras and Nicaragua.
