Senior Officials Brief on International
Population Policy and ICPD+5On Tuesday, February 2 at 2:30 p.m. in the State Department Briefing Room (room 2118), Frank E. Loy, Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs, and Duff Gillespie, Deputy Assistant Administrator of USAID's Center for Population, Health and Nutrition, will brief reporters on-the-record, off-camera.
The topic will be the five-year review process (ICPD+5) of the 20-year program of action forged at the International Conference on Population and Development in 1994 (Cairo). They will also brief on preparations and USG goals for the International Forum at The Hague, February 8-12, which is part of the ICPD+5 process. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton will be the keynote speaker at The Hague event.
