Special Briefings for Friday, April 9

Senior State Department Officials will brief the press today ON BACKGROUND on the Secretary of State’s report to Congress in response to Accountability Review Board recommendations concerning the August 1998 bombings of U.S. Embassies in Tanzania and Kenya. The briefing will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the State Department Briefing Room (room 2118).

Also this afternoon, Ambassador David Scheffer, Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues, will brief the press ON THE RECORD, on camera, at 4:00 on atrocities that have taken place in Kosovo. This briefing will be held in the State Department Press Briefing Room (room 2118). Following his opening presentation, Ambassador Scheffer will respond to press questions.
