Cardinal Law To Honor U.S. Ambassador
To Honduras for Hurricane Mitch Work, April 16,1999James Creagan, U.S. Ambassador to Honduras and Archbishop Oscar Rodriguez of Honduras will each receive the Caritas Christi Medal from His Eminence Bernard Cardinal Law on Friday, April 16. The medals will be given for extraordinary humanitarian efforts in responding to Hurricane Mitch, which devastated Central America last year.
Ambassador’s Creagan’s schedule of activities for the day is as follows:
A briefing by Ambassador Creagan is scheduled for 10:00am at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, 736 Cambridge Street in Brighton for private voluntary organizations from the Boston area, who were, continue to be or may wish to be active in Mitch relief efforts.
A press conference is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. with Cardinal Law, Ambassador Creagan and Archbishop Rodriguez before the ceremony in the Director’s Room at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. They will review Mitch relief work over the past six months.
The Caritas Christi award ceremony and dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel.
