Ukraine: Visit of Prime Minister Yushchenko to Washington
The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, will travel to Washington May 8-9. This will be his first visit to the United States as Prime Minister.
While in Washington, the Prime Minister will consult with U.S. Government officials on a broad range of bilateral and multilateral issues, including Ukraine's efforts to accelerate market reforms and speed its integration into the Euro-Atlantic community. He will meet Secretary Albright-whom he first met during her April 14 visit to Kiev-in the Department on May 8. Meetings with Secretary of the Treasury Lawrence Summers, U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky, and White House officials are also scheduled.
