Four Months Notice, October 4, 1994.
Released by the Department of State, Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs.
OES/OA has been advised by our Embassy in London that application to conduct marine scientific research in Bermuda must be forwarded through the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The stated prior notice requirement for research clearance requests to the United Kingdom is 90 days. Therefore, it is required that all research vessel clearance requests be submitted to the Department of State at least four months prior to proposed research, and in compliance with the "UNOLS Handbook for International Operations of U.S. Scientific Research Vessels."
