Focus of Trip
Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright will depart the evening of July 25 for Bangkok, Thailand to participate in the ASEAN Regional Forum and the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference, July 26-29. While in Bangkok, she will also hold bilateral meetings with a number of her counterparts. The Secretary will travel to Japan on July 29-31, visiting Tokyo and Miyazaki. On July 31, Secretary Albright will travel from Japan to Italy. She expects to have meetings on August 1 at the Vatican with Vatican Foreign Minister Tauran to bring him up to date on the Middle East peace process.
