U.S.-North Korea Missile Talks
The United States and North Korea will hold missile talks on July 10-12, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The last formal round of U.S.-North Korea missile talks was held in Pyongyang in March 1999. The upcoming round was preceded by a preparatory session held in Rome on May 31, 2000. The talks will cover a wide range of issues, including U.S. concerns about North Korea's missile exports and its indigenous missile activities. The U.S. side will be led by Robert Einhorn, Assistant Secretary of State for Nonproliferation. The North Korean side will be led by Mr. Jang Chang Chon, Director General for U.S. Affairs at the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
