The United States has long urged cooperation among countries that export nuclear and nuclear-related commodities and technology to ensure that commerce in this area does not contribute to nuclear proliferation. The Administration also has a comprehensive policy on transfers of conventional arms that balances legitimate arms sales to support the national security of U.S. allies and friends.
